Outdoor Classroom

At Preschool North & Childcare, we believe that our environment plays a crucial role in enhancing children's learning experiences. Here’s a glimpse into our thoughtfully designed spaces:

•  Large Bright Preschool Room: Our main preschool room is spacious and filled with natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for exploration and discovery. 

•  Indoor Museum: We feature a large indoor museum that supports our science-based programming. This interactive space allows children to engage with various scientific concepts and encourages curiosity and creativity. 

•  Animals and Gardening Experiences: Children have the opportunity to connect with nature through hands-on experiences with animals and gardening. These activities enhance their understanding of ecosystems and environmental stewardship. With the release of butterflies each spring and learning about incubation and hatching eggs.

•  Outdoor Playground: Adjacent to our building is a large brand new playground accessed via a pathway. This area provides children with opportunities for physical activity, imaginative play, and social interaction in a natural setting. 

•  Partnership with the Exploration Place: We are proud to partner with the Exploration Place, a local organization focused on history, engineering, and science. This collaboration enriches our curriculum and informs our planned daily activities, allowing children to explore a wide range of topics in an engaging manner. 

•  Spontaneous Outings: We take advantage of our beautiful surroundings with many spontaneous outings. Our adventures may include trips to the historic park, where children can enjoy the splash pad, playground, and numerous trails, or visit Origins Kitchen for a yummy ice cream treat and further explore the amazing exhibits at the Exploration Place. 

• Our outdoor Classroom is  well under way from ideas from parents, children and forest Nature School course work.
